Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is now a mandatory legal requirement for all registered pharmacists.
The Pharmacy Forum NI provides a range of different CPD facilitation training and support services, as follows:
- Facilitation Training Events
This training covers CPD requirements, CPD record-keeping and documentation and evidence requirements. They are typically held in the evening across Northern Ireland. There are four scheduled events in the 2015/2016 year, beginning in September 2015 at a Belfast location, with two following events scheduled to be held in January 2016 in Cookstown and Derry/ L’Derry and the final event in Belfast in April 2016.
The specific dates and venues of the events shall be promoted on the Pharmacy Forum NI website and advertised in the newsletter. Please make sure to book promptly once advertised to avoid disappointment.
- One to One Facilitation Sessions
These concise 45 minutes sessions provide an opportunity for Pharmacists who have already attended a CPD Facilitation evening event or who are familiar with the existing training materials, to fine tune and or get advice on completing specific cycles.
- Individual Facilitation Support
This service is available for those who want an individual training session with one of our facilitators. This will be charged at £25 per hour, and must be booked 30 days in advance. For more information, or to book this type of support please contact the Pharmacy Forum NI Coordinator by email: email@example.com or by telephone: (028)90326927.
- Online Resources
The Pharmacy Forum NI will have a section on the website dedicated to CPD Facilitation resources. This will include a video of the training event presentation, as well as the consensus guidance and examples of scheduled and unscheduled cycles.
